We are delighted to share our impact report for 2022/2023, showcasing the hard work of our partners and the accomplishments of the women and girls we support.
One of the cornerstones of our work lies in building the capacity of our local women-led partners. By collaborating with these organisations, we foster sustainable change and empower communities at the grassroots level.
In the last year, we have continued to formalise our work in mentoring, coordinating with our partners in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Cameroon, the UK, and Guatemala to give their staff the framework to support women and girls in their professional and personal development. Through training and knowledge-sharing, our partners can develop the resources to deliver effective and impactful interventions.
This year, we worked in 19 countries with 30 local partners, reaching 22,769 girls, women and their communities
This year, we began work on an innovative research project to understand how migrant girls are accessing education in the UK. Drawing from our experience with our partner the Baytree Centre, this research aims to shed light on the barriers to education girls face when they arrive in the UK, and provide recommendations for policymakers to ensure girls receive the education they have a right to.
Furthermore, following the success of the Mwangaza Project in Kenya, we have developed a similar project for women in Uganda. Known as the Kumulisa Project, the goal is to provide women with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to develop their own small businesses and increase their income.
As we move forward, we are excited about the possibilities for the next ten years. Together with your support, we are confident that we can build on our successes, forge new partnerships, and continue to create a brighter future for women and girls.
