Sorawell Professional Training College

Sorawell provides training for young women in Yaoundé so that they can gain access to good employment in the hospitality industry.

Our partner, Sorawell Professional Training College, is a hospitality and catering training facility in Cameroon’s capital city, Yaoundé. Sorawell provides young women from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to study and develop new skills that translate into good employment. Since 2004, Sorawell has reached over 900 lives a year through their 3-year program for enrolled students, as well as short-term technical training classes and seminars for women living in surrounding areas.

The curriculum for this program is broken into three main categories: general education, practical training, and business administration. Sorawell’s unique and successful programme directly addresses the problems surrounding young women’s lack of access to education and employment. Graduates are able to work in Yaoundé’s increasingly growing hospitality and tourism industries, allowing them to double their family income.
