We work with many partners who are supporting refugee and migrant women across Europe and Africa.
At WONDER, we have been supporting migrant and refugee women and girls ever since we became a charity. We do this work with women from many different backgrounds, across many different countries.
Supporting Ukrainian Refugees in Poland with Pontes Association
Since 2018, WONDER Foundation has worked with locally-led Polish organisations to support Ukrainian migrant women in Poland. Following the invasion of Russia in Ukraine, Pontes Association has been supporting thousands of women and their families.
Along with meeting the urgent needs of the women and families fleeing war, they also provide long-term support including Polish lessons, counselling, career guidance, and more.
Encouraging Safe Migration in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire
In collaboration with ELIS, WONDER developed a framework to encourage safe migration for women in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire who are seeking work and education opportunities abroad. Our partners in these countries now actively educating women on how to recognise legitimate job offers and find pathways for safe migration, in order to reducing their risk of exploitation and trafficking. Helping Women and Girls Adjust to Life in the UK with the Baytree Centre
The Baytree Centre is a social inclusion charity for women and girls. Their Into School programme facilitates the transition of girls who are new to the UK into education system. This includes English lessons, and help applying for a place in school. Baytree also support women who are new to the UK through career coaching, mentoring, English lessons, and more.
The FATIMA Project: Uniting NGOS across the UK, Spain, Poland and Latvia
Active across four European countries, the FATIMA project has been a collaborative project between five NGOs supporting the empowerment and social integration of migrant women through a personalised and holistic approach.
Launched in 2018, this ground-breaking project has supported the economic, social, cultural and political integration of over 200 migrant women. Each woman receives one-on-one support through language classes, mentoring, personalised development programmes, civic engagement and cultural activities plan, volunteering and work experience.
