FPTI

Partnered with FPTI, we support young women in participating in leadership programmes and vocational training.

The Foundation for Professional Training Incorporated (FPTI) is a local foundation and partner of WONDER that works with five schools all over the country, providing vocational training to girls and women. As a response to the large sector of private education, that makes especially higher education inaccessible for girls from rural and working-class backgrounds, FPTI offers scholarships that fund vocational training in the hospitality and culinary industry.

Our partner FPTI provides a two-year dual-training programme which equips students from urban and rural poverty, with few opportunities, for the workplace. Students are enabled to break the cycle of poverty through training in hospitality and culinary arts, coupled with effective mentoring, personal development and work attitudes training. Over the years, close to 100% of graduates have secured full-time employment within one month of graduation.

  • Project focus: vocational training, mentoring
  • Women and girls directly impacted: 3,225
  • Year we started working with FPTI: 2013
