Annual Report for 2021/2022: Ten years of WONDER

We are proud to share our annual report for 2021/2022, which marks the tenth anniversary of WONDER Foundation.

This is an incredible milestone, standing as a testament to the expertise of our partners and the achievements of the women and girls we support. In the last year, we worked with 33 local, women-led partners in 22 countries around the world to reach 18, 792 women and girls. An impressive 80% of students we supported have been able to increase their income, and that of their families.

We are delighted to have achieved long-term goals that we thought would take much longer to realise. This includes:

  • Launching the first CPD programme for nurses in Congo with our longstanding partner, ISSI.
  • Working with experts to launch EMPath-style mentoring training in Kenya and Cameroon, the first application of this evidence-based methodology on the continent.
  • Developing robust, locally-appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures with our partners in 5 countries, training leaders across our projects.
  • Facilitating youth-led resources on safe migration in Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria.

Throughout the year, we have continued to respond swiftly and effectively to the issues identified by our partners. This has included rebuilding the roof of our partner project in Cebu, Philippines, which was hit by Typhoon Odette in December 2021.

Additionally, we worked with our longstanding partner Pontes to respond to the first waves of refugees crossing into Poland. Building on past experience supporting Ukrainian women in Poland, we have already helped over 140,000 people, and our long-term programme to support Ukrainian families began in May.

Doing this work would not be possible without the generosity and encouragement of our supporters, for which we would like to say: thank you! Read the full report at the link below to learn more about the difference your support can make in a woman’s life.
