Outstanding Ofcom raise £400 for women's education

Wonder's Charlene Ching presents a certificate of appreciation to Ofcom CEO Sharon White.

24th March 2017

A few weeks ago, on International Women's Day, Ofcom's staff raised money for Wonder's education projects around the world by putting on an impressive bake sale for their colleagues. They made £400, which will now go to our partners educating disadvantaged women and girls in the UK and around the world. To celebrate their contributions, Wonder's Charlene Ching visited Ofcom's offices in Southwark, London, to give a presentation to staff. Charlene presented our work of empowering women and girls through local, vocational education to gain professional employment, and shared her experiences of working with our partner organisations in the UK and the Philippines. She also presented a certificate of appreciation to Ofcom's CEO Sharon White (pictured above).

Special thanks must go to Stephanie de la Sayette, Karolina Paszkowska and Sasha Magill for taking the initiative to fundraise and inviting us to introduce ourselves to other members of staff. "A massive thank you from us all to Wonder and to Charlene in particular for coming to Ofcom and presenting about your great work" said Stephanie after yesterday's event. "We had great feedback - people told me how inspiring it was."

We look forward to working with Ofcom in the future!
